The Shifts roster shows who is working, when. This walkthrough finds shifts for one client, changes the span, and looks at the same roster grouped two ways.
The filters sit behind the filter icon rather than above the grid. The search in there matches the names down the side — clients and facilities in Client View, staff in User View, where it also matches email and job title — so it narrows which ROWS you see. It does not search shift notes or content.
Week, Fortnight and Month change how much you are looking at. Month is a different view entirely: a month calendar rather than a row per person. User View gives each staff member a row and adds a lane for open shifts nobody has taken; Client View groups clients under the facility they belong to.
Step 1
Open the roster
Go to Shifts, check the displayed dates, and read an existing shift before touching the controls.
Step 2
Filter to a person
Open the filters and enter a client or staff name, then check the matching rows. Clear the filter if it hides shifts you expected.
Step 3
Change the span
Use the period selector for Week, Fortnight or Month. A wider span changes the dates on screen, not the shifts themselves.
Step 4
Move between dates
Use the previous and next arrows and read the new range. Come back to a period you know has shifts before comparing groupings.
Step 5
Switch the grouping
Switch between Client View and User View and find the same shift in each, checking its dates and who is assigned. Dragging across dates opens an unsaved creation panel — creating shifts is outside this walkthrough.
Step 6
What an empty cell does and doesn't tell you
An empty cell means no shift is rostered there. It is not a statement that the person is free — the dashboard has no concept of unavailability or leave, so nothing on this grid can tell you that. Check however your organisation records availability before you commit someone.
Step 7
Starting a shift from the grid
Clicking an empty cell opens the Create Shift panel already filled in with that row and date, and dragging across several days opens it with the span filled in. Neither SAVES anything — the panel is a starting point, and the shift exists only once you create it. Creating shifts is covered in its own walkthrough.
